TAYLEE BASCOM
Dance Teacher, Dance Director
Taylee has been dancing since the age of three. She has been trained in various styles with her favorite being jazz and lyrical. She began competing in groups and as a soloist when she was 11 years old. She was a member of her high school's drill team where she served as a captain for two years. She had the opportunity of traveling to New York with her team and training with a cast member from Wicked. Her senior year she was selected as a member of the 3A all-state team as well as a member of the 3A academic all-state. After graduating high school, she attended Snow College where she was a member of the Badgerettes and continued teaching at a studio there in Ephraim, UT. Taylee enjoys traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children. She has been teaching dance for 8 years and is excited to continue here at Stand Out Studios.
ALYSSA COLLIER
Dance Teacher, Competition Dance Director
Alyssa began dance lessons at 4 years old in her home state of Texas. She has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, and musical theater styles of dance. Alyssa danced competitively from the ages of 6 to 18 years old and gained a passion for performing from doing so. In 2020, she graduated from North East School of the Arts (NESA), a performing arts high school in San Antonio, Texas. While there, she danced every day and learned from professional choreographers who came from all over the country to teach there. Alyssa has been teaching dance to students ages 2-18 years old for over 3 years now and absolutely loves her students. She is currently working towards her BS in Early Childhood Education at Brigham Young University along with minors in both Contemporary Dance and Family Studies. In her spare time Alyssa loves to bake, read, and spend time with her husband, Lucas.
GAYLENE MERCHANT

Gaylene Merchant is the founder of Sunshine Singers, the inspiration that sparked Stand Out Singers. Gaylene has blessed children, families, and audiences everywhere- infusing them with the confidence to believe in themselves and each other. She is the mother of seven children, and the founder of the Rain Dancing Swan Scholarship (a scholarship offered to help children with financial need to develop their talents at Stand Out Studios). Gaylene has professionally managed the country band Firefly for 13 years, handling bookings, communications, social media, and directing recordings and music videos. We are grateful to have Gaylene as a dance teacher, costume designer, and sponsor at Stand Out Studios.
MELANIE CLARK

Melanie Clark is the founder of Stand Out Studios. She has a degree from Brigham Young University in Elementary Education with an emphasis in music and dance. She started Sing and Shout in 2015, following in the footsteps of her mother who owns Sunshine Singers. She performs in the country band Firefly as a lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She finds great joy in raising her 4 children in Santaquin, Utah, and loves to help her students develop confidence and self esteem through the arts.

Maisy has been studying and performing music for her whole life. She is currently studying Music Education at Brigham Young University with an emphasis in voice. She has had the opportunity to study, classical, theatrical, and pop contemporary voice styles throughout her life. She has done countless performances alongside her family. She loves working with the Sing and Shout performers!
MADELYN THURMAN

Madelyn has a degree in music from Utah Valley University. She has performed throughout her life in a country trio called Firefly with her sisters, as well as participated in orchestras, choirs, and solo performances. She teaches cello and vocal lessons remotely, as she currently resides in the Pittsburgh area while her husband attends medical school. She has been the Assistant Director and stage manager for Sing and Shout teams for 5 years. She and absolutely adores the sing and shout students!
LACEY PROVSTGAARD
Acro teacher
Lacey has been tumbling since the age of three. She earned the national
championship title at the age of 11. She then went on to gymnastics where she
competed at an optional level. Lacey was able to compete around the world.
She has coached tumbling now for the last 15 years. Lacey enjoys sharing her
talents with others and watching them grow. Lacey has a love for the outdoors
and enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. Lacey is
currently a resident of santaquin and is so excited to be a part of the stand out
studio team.
BRYLEE JOHNSON
Dance Teacher
Brylee has been dancing since the age of three. She has been trained in many styles, her favorite being Ballet. She has a strong passion for ballet and believes it to be a strong building block in dance. She has had the opportunity to train with many professional choreographers and dancers during her dance training. After graduating hihg school, she attended Snow College to further her education in dance and was a member of their dance team. She has loved dancing and has always wanted to teach. She is so excited for the opportunity to be here at Stand Out!
CHELSEA LAUDER
Dance Teacher
Chelsea grew up dancing in the children's program at BYU. She was on her high school drill team and dance company. Since high school, she has been busy having kids and getting her Elementary Teaching degree. But she has danced as much as she could in between that with Zumba, High Fitness, and other forms of dancing exercise. SHE enjoys riding her bike, working out, Harry Potter, reading, floral design and Diet Dr. Pepper. She loves that dance teaches kids to be confident, creative, and active. She is so excited to teach kids just that at Stand Out!
CLAIRE CLARK
Dance Teacher, Ambassador Dance Tech Instructor
Claire has danced since she was 3 years old and started competing at the age of 6. This last year, her solo dance performance took many awards in competitions all over the west coast. In addition to this, she participated in our Sing and Shout show choir for over 10 years and is so excited to be back to teach! Claire is on her high school cheer team. She is a hard worker, a kind teacher, and an incredible choreographer.
